La côte bleue
Have you heard of the Blue Coast? 🌊This wild coastline owes its name to the colour of its waters. It stretches from L’Estaque in Marseille to Martigues and the mouth of the Caronte Canal, which flows into the Étang de Berre lagoon.
It is the maritime border of the charming towns of Le Rove, Ensuès-la-Redonne, Sausset-les-Pins, Carry-le-Rouet and Martigues.
A rich region characterised by unspoilt nature, giving it incredible charm! Small harbours, pine forests, beaches and coves follow one another, offering picture-postcard landscapes! ☀️ But what we also love is its authenticity. Far from the glitz and glamour of the Côte d’Azur, the Côte Bleue has the feel of Provence in days gone by. Its small villages have managed to preserve their simplicity and traditions and have not succumbed to mass tourism. A real pleasure!
You can enjoy numerous activities and leisure pursuits for the whole family throughout the year: whether you prefer the sea, the countryside or culture, there are many services and events organised in the various towns along the Côte Bleue, making it a dynamic and attractive region.
Find a non-exhaustive list of activities here and feel free to visit the website of the Martigues Tourist Office to find out about local events during your stay.
